About
Pocket Jury is a mobile media review website featuring an international collaboration of bloggers.
Pocket Jury started in 2010 as a means to allow a small community of people from around the world to stay in touch and share opinions with one another. Originally conceived as a small forum for folks who had met online over the last decade or so, eventually it grew to include a blog which publishes articles on a range of subjects. In 2011, Pocket Jury went public in an effort to reach out to other people interested in contributing or becoming involved with the project.
If you are interested in contributing, please join the forums and say hello. If you would like us to review something (music, media, products etc), please email us at pocketjury at gmail.com. Please send an email if you require a mailing address. We will try to review everything that is sent to us but largely, we like to write about things which we actively enjoy. The Pocket Jury name was shamelessly swiped from UK journalist Charlie Brooker, who also wrote the comic you can see above. Sorry.
The iconic Pocket Jury photo contains the following -
- Four aces from a pack of mini playing cards.
- An orange Dunlop plectrum given to Pocket Jury by Guy Picciotto at the end of the last ever Fugazi show in London.
- A small plastic cassette keyring made by Ellen Barnhart. Thanks again.
- An iPod 5G displaying the cover art of On The Beach by Neil Young.
- The original Pocket Jury comic by UK journalist Charlie Brooker.
- A nearly empty bottle of Bulleit Bourbon.
- A hot cup of tea.
- 100 posters, 134 squirrels book by Chicago based artist and musician Jay Ryan.
- A lamp from IKEA.
- At the extreme left, in the background is The Great Outdoor Fight by the artist Chris Onstad.
- A wooden desk of unconfirmed origin.
