Review: Geoff Farina – The Wishes Of The Dead
Former Karate front-man and erstwhile Glorytellers leader Geoff Farina has released his first solo album in a decade on Damnably. It’s a wonderful listen if you like acoustic guitar music with a healthy slant towards roots music – specifically folk, blues, bluegrass and ragtime. If you enjoyed his superb records with Chris Brokaw, this is an excellent companion album. Terrific guitar playing and a compelling glance into some of the lives of those inhabiting small towns around the banks of the Kennebec River in the US state of Maine. Take a chance, it’s a subtle but rewarding experience.
